(Jul 23) I had a great time playing Blood on the Clocktower here. The game master was very caring and professional, leading 14 of us through the game with such nimbleness. We played the Sects and Violets script and it was awesome! The pricing was $25 per person for 4 hours. Besides, I really liked how wide variety there was beautiful board games here. And the Lego wall! Such creative touch to the decor. It brought such uniqueness and fun atmosphere to the place. Definitely recommend!

3. Double Kill Games
There are the same review number as Garden Lounge Creative Space, but the rating is abit lower at 4.7 star. Double Kill Games offers a fresh gaming experience with a diverse selection of board games and a cafe setting. While their new games and affordable prices are attractive, the limited snack variety and staff’s English limitation can be a drawback. Major of customers review that the environment is noisy and crowded.
Recent Customer review:
(Oct 23) The best board game bar in Sydney, I recommend everyone to play it, and the price is quite reasonable. (P.S. The boss is really nice)

(Aug 23) I love this place for the price and how freely we get to spend our time here all day long. I love it even more for the little toys and collectibles that they sell in their gift shop. I got some gorgeous perfumes but the cashier refused to sell it to me, would have loved to try those pocket perfumes as I had a gathering coming up. Other than this incident it is a lovely place and I would come back for more.

4. Sappho Books, Cafe & Bar
Sappho Books, Cafe & Bar has an impressive 859 customer reviews, stands out for its extensive selection of books, including the option to purchase and borrow used books. Patrons praise the great atmosphere and the availability of board games, particularly chess. The cozy courtyard cafe is a highlight, described as “very nice.” However, it’s worth noting that the multistorey, old building may pose accessibility challenges due to numerous steep stairs.
Recent Customer review:
(Oct 23) Beautiful Bookstore that’s more spacious than outside appearances would have you believe. I highly recommend the “Sappho’s custom blend chai”. friendly staff & great service. Having recently returned to Sydney after 9 years in Newcastle, I’m glad to have found a new Bookstore Cafe to visit. (I’ve shared the same review on my FB account)

5. ESC Gaming Restaurant
ESC Gaming Restaurant is recommended as a fun dining spot for the young at heart. It’s advised to make advance bookings, especially for themed rooms. Customers find the food delightful, although some wish for a more extensive menu. Patrons like the refreshing touch of various themes and appreciate the combination of awesome Japanese cuisine with gaming on Nintendo and PS5 consoles, making it a great place for a unique dining experience.
Recent Customer review:
(22 oct 23) It isn’t easy to find the entrance, and parking needs to be at the parking lot as busy street parking. Food was well presented and arrived promptly after ordering on the iPad. Min $70 per person with theme room. The melon soft drink was nice. Services were great Unique atmosphere. We did not play much game due to the limitation of 2.5 hours. Interesting unique experience

(15 Oct 23) This place is cool and super fun. I’ve been twice. The only down side is it is ridiculously loud. That’s not super enjoyable for me but it may be fine for you. Would recommend going at least once!

(Sep 23) Fantastic place to check out. We went on the club day where we could play everything for $20 (besides pinball machines) and it was so fun. Played a heap of point blank and Galaga. Great time.

7. Fortress Sydney
Fortress Sydney is a unique destination that combines a diverse selection of board games, a delightful cafe experience, and the enchanting presence of Lewis the magician. Patrons enjoy engaging board games while savoring delicious food and drinks, all amidst the friendly staff and the magical touch of Lewis, making it a must-visit for both board game enthusiasts and cafe aficionados.
Recent Customer review:
(29 Oct 23) We have come to Fortress a number of times and its atmosphere and entertainment are always amazing. The bar/tavern (with an arcade upstairs) has decent pizzas, burger and drinks. You can hire various board games and card games and play in a thematic space. Yesterday, Fortress took their entertainment to another level. We met Lewi for the first time and he was a treat. He was a magician who came to our table and gave us some really good laughs. Magicians have never really been something I was excited for, but Lewi blew our mind. I look forward to returning in a few weeks and hopefully seeing some more magic.

8. B. Lucky & Sons Entertainment Quarter
B. Lucky & Sons at the Entertainment Quarter is an establishment with a reasonable price range of A$20–40 per person. But it falls short in terms of game variety and a retro vibe due to many machines being out of service. However, the host receives praise for being organized, fun, and attentive, particularly with children’s parties where bringing a cake and balloons is a breeze. Despite the gaming drawbacks, patrons find the arcade bar cocktails amazing and appreciate the friendly staff for creating a fun atmosphere.

(Oct 23) A couple of things. Firstly- inconsistent messaging about adding funds to cards. Some staff say ok to split between cards, others say no. Secondly so many school groups an people allowed in at one time unable to access the games!
